Kellen was raised in the lush mountains of Asheville, NC where she formed a deep bond with natural systems and the people who love them. She holds a BA in Environmental Studies and has since focused on integrating biological research, watershed restoration, and environmental education. In the past six years, she has lived and worked in New Zealand, Alaska, an island off the coast of Alabama, Trinidad & Tobago, Oregon, and now is thrilled to set down nice deep roots in Petaluma. Her diverse experiences have fostered a passion for inspiring love of nature and action to sustain it in our local communities. In her free time Kellen enjoys riding horses, studying Permaculture, gardening, hiking with her dog Roxie, mushroom hunting, knitting, learning to play the fiddle, live music, birding, and camping.
