Did you know that the number one pollutant of our waterways is trash? Want to do something about it?
Daily Acts is thrilled to be partnering with the City of Cotati Public Works Department to not only remove litter from a Laguna de Santa Rosa tributary, but to evaluate and compare last year's clean-up to this year's! In addition to picking up cigarette butts, soda cans, and a variety of plastics commonly found in channels and main street sewer systems, we will also be quantifying the trash using an application from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Just think, you can help us record baseline data that will inform the City's outreach efforts in order to reduce storm-water pollution and keep the creek clean.
Clean-up will occur along a two mile stretch of the Laguna de Santa Rosa that passes through downtown Cotati neighborhoods. The meeting site is located between 8560 and 8562 Lakewood Ave, near Cotati's Historic Well Lot #2.
Come meet neighbors, make friends and be a part of a larger movement to improve our watershed health! Be sure to Bring Your Own Boots (BYOB) to keep you dry while we beautify Cotati's Wildlife Corridor.
When: Saturday, September 22, 2017 9am until 12pm
Where: Clean-up begins at Cotati Well Lot #2, between 8560 and 8562 Lakewood Ave
Cost: Free (thanks to the City of Cotati)
