Talk: Beyond Beauty - What Function Does Your Landscape Provide?

10/8/2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM PT

Our landscapes provide many things: value to our home, outdoor entertaining, food, and beauty!
With just a little shift in our focus, our beautiful landscapes can serve to assist in so many of the ecological crises that we are facing. In fact, many companies, including Daily Acts and Elder Creek Landscapes, have made that shift over a decade ago and have been incorporating functional, ecologically literate systems into landscapes so that they provide critically needed services to the environment.

During this evening together, Rick Taylor will present and lead a discussion surrounding the three main services your landscape can easily provide: Cleaning and Protecting water, Providing Habitat, and Sequestering Carbon.

Sebastian Bertsch will join us to give a watershed view of how rainwater in our landscape links to our greater ecosystem, and Rick will provide specific techniques to manage runoff.
