When my son was in pre-school their teacher was teaching how to convert veggie tops and ends into soil. She asked people to bring in the scraps. Since we eat tons of veggies, I brought in the most scraps. At the end of the lesson, she asked if I wanted the bin, to which I said “Yes, I’d love it!” Continue the teaching at home, right? What’s great about this story is that my son has now graduated from college and I still have this simple little bin to convert scraps to gorgeous soil. It’s small, but every little bit helps. I use the soils I make to support my lovely succulent gardens and veggie gardens. – Mary-Beth Ray
