Connor DeVane
Connor DeVaneSenior Climate Resilience Programs Coordinator
Connor grew up in various suburbs of major cities across the US, from New Orleans to Las Vegas, where most of his time outdoors was spent in swimming pools or on sports fields. It was only after graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor’s in English that his relationship to the more-than-human world truly began to blossom; within a week of commencement, he began a five-month-long hike from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail.

Following this transformative experience, Connor moved to Portland, OR, and reoriented his life around organizing for climate justice. That calling led him again to the mountains, this time walking from Canada to Mexico via the Continental Divide Trail. During his journey, Connor filmed the feature documentary “Hike the Divide: A Conversation About Climate Action on the Continental Divide Trail,” showcasing the stories of grassroots activists he met along the way who are working locally to address the climate crisis.

Connor moved to Sonoma County in 2019 and earned his Permaculture Design Certification in 2020. He is passionate about watershed regeneration and the power of community. In his free time, you can find Connor organizing for climate justice, wandering through the forest, tinkering in the garden or singing and noodling on guitar.
