On April 18th 2020, Daily Acts partnered with the City of Petaluma, Petaluma Bounty, and local entomologist Kandis Gilmore to create this webinar for kids: How To Go On Your Own Insect Safari! Kandis has a Master of Science focused in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from Sonoma State University, where her thesis research focused on Sonoma County pollinators. Watch this webinar to learn about what an insect is, what makes them unique, and three different ways you can observe them. Then, watch Kandis visit our friends at Petaluma Bounty, where she explored how farming practices at the Bounty Farm encourage a rich diversity of insect life. With all the tools you need to go on your own Insect Safari, Kandis will then invite you to see what you can find in your own garden space! This webinar closes with Kandis sharing one of her favorite insect stories, and a Show & Tell from participants during the live-stream of the webinar.
