On Saturday, November 9th, Daily Acts partnered with the City of Petaluma to host a bilingual sustainable gardening program with a Sonoma County Adult Education class. The program was held at one of our original demonstration gardens that was installed 10 years ago, at the Cavanaugh Recreation Center. First, students were able to take a tour of the demonstration site, which was given in both English and Spanish, to explore the different edible and medicinal plants in the garden, as well as some of the sustainable features including rain tanks and a rain garden. Afterwards, the students helped remove some invasive Lemon Balm, prune back shrubs and trees, and lay out a fresh layer of mulch over the entire garden.

We are so grateful for the hard work of these students, that made this gardening day a success!
