There is power in relationships, networks, and coalitions. Look at what can happen when we reclaim the power of our relationships to care for our community in response to crisis.

Thank you Left Coast Wholesale!… for generously donating GeoPot Fabric Pot planters for ready-to-grow Garden Kits that were distributed in 2020 and 2021 in response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

In 2020, over 1,000 garden kits were distributed to members of the Latinx community and other local families experiencing food insecurity. GeoPot Fabric Pot planters were filled with 4,000 vegetable and medicinal plant starts, organic potting soil, vegetable and flower seeds, bilingual educational resources and medicinal teas, and other gardening goods. Kits were distributed with Community Action Partnership, Graton Day Labor Center, La Luz at their existing resource distribution sites and Mercy Wellness. All supplies were gifted by our community partners. Read more about the project in the local news: Delivering Food Security & Program Reaches Out to the Latinx Community with Garden Kits.

In 2021, an additional 200 garden kits were distributed through the Botanical Bus Bilingual Mobile Herb Clinic at their wellness workshops. As they handed them out, Promatoras ensured the recipients knew how to care for their new little gardens. The ready-to-go garden kits contain essentials for growing food and medicine with culturally relevant plants, updated bilingual resources, and a homemade salsa recipe to feast on the bounty. Delicious!

GeoPot Fabric Pot planters are durable, reliable gardening containers for both amateur and professional growers, and offer many advantages including improved aeration and drainage. They offer flexibility for homeowners and renters alike to grow food and medicine regardless of access to gardening space. We are so grateful to partner with Left Coast Wholesale in providing Sonoma County residents with the ability to grow their own food and medicine!
