Growing up in rural Sonoma County, Ryan’s connection and sense of stewardship for the natural world has early roots. He returned home after studying Environmental Studies and Business at the University of Oregon and promptly started volunteering for Daily Acts because it was the most solution-oriented organization in the region. Volunteering lead to an internship and then a staff position, eventually becoming a Senior Programs Coordinator. He went on to become the Program Director at the Permaculture Skills Center overseeing their ecological entrepreneurship programs and 5-acre demonstration site. In 2016 he helped launch Ethic Ciders, an artisan cider company rooted in regenerative land management. As Cidermaker and Orchard Manger he leads the company’s operations from soil to glass. Ryan is passionate about living a rich and fulfilling existence that uplifts the well-being of all life. He’s an avid gardening, homesteader, backpacker, forager, chef and learner.
