Santa Rosa Junior College in Petaluma will be the fourth garden installation in our Climate Resilient Schools Program, an expansion of our Land Resilience Partnership Program that supports water conservation projects at a total of four local schools in Petaluma. Water conservation measures such as rainwater tanks, turf conversion and efficient irrigation were installed at the schools, along with the planting of native trees to reduce heat from asphalt playgrounds.
This project will get started in the fall of 2026! Daily Acts will be converting a portion of the turf into a water-wise and native plant garden that will attract and support many pollinators and birds. This site will also include rain gardens!
