April Greetings, dear Daily Actor,

Breathe. Rest. Repeat. This is the mantra for the moment. Its hard to know what to do and how to plan. We do know this crisis will end, and this resilient community will get through it together.

Please consider supporting our work during this difficult time so we can continue our conservation, education, and community building efforts. As for all nonprofits, fundraising at Daily Acts will be severely impacted by the coronavirus. Year after year, we manage extraordinary accomplishments on a lean budget. And we are primarily supported by individual donors like YOU.

While our regular programs and events are postponed or moved to virtual, we have an obligation to step up more than ever before in the wake of the Coronavirus. We KNOW that each of our small daily actions add up collectively to make a big impact – and human impact on the climate crisis is being demonstrated by the nearly 50% reduction in carbon emissions in New York and significant pollution reduction in countries that have issued a shelter-in-place order.  Our daily routines have a tremendous impact on our environment and world.

Who will you be in this moment? Many of us are feeling, understandably, very anxious about this situation. In this moment of extreme uncertainty, surrender can be the greatest gift we give ourselves. Surrender to not knowing, or having answers, to being patient. Because we’re not going to know for a bit, and there is a fair amount that is out of our control. Surrendering allows you to create the space you need for your own mental well-being. It gives permission to curb your anxiety and make room for forgiveness of yourself and others.

The world needs YOU to be the healthiest, most resilient version of yourself that you can be – because when this is all over, the recovery will be successful because of the every day actions of people like you and me. So focus on what is in your control. Take care of yourself. Claim some space to do what will nourish you. Set a schedule. Wear your comfy clothes since you’re staying home, but do change out of your pajamas every day. Remember to go outside and breathe. Ask yourself what positive habits you can reclaim to support yourself in this moment?

YOU are the miracle. We say that often, but what do we mean? We mean that YOU are the one who can choose to take heart and take action. YOU are Daily Acts.

Please make a gift today to ensure that Daily Acts remains viable in this time. Thank you.
