Every day is Earth Day.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, an example of how civic engagement sparked legislation for many of the environmental protections that are still in place today. For many, this is a time of celebration, for reconnecting with nature and community, and for taking action to support a cleaner, healthier planet. While the shelter in place order has created some restrictions in our movement and engagement with each other, there are still plenty of ways for us to take heart, take part and take action.

With this in mind, Daily Acts is launching our ‘Be the Change’ campaign next week – providing ways for our community to practice self-care and personal leadership, grow food and medicine, conserve water and resources, and build community and civic engagement. For the rest of 2020, we will share information about actions you can take, along with how-to videos and resources to help you along the way. To hear more details and get a dose of inspiration, watch the video above from our Executive Director, Trathen Heckman.

As you can imagine, fundraising for Daily Acts’ programs has been severely impacted. If you are one of the fortunate people who has been minimally impacted, or if you just don’t need it, please consider gifting a portion of your stimulus check to this program to support our community to ‘Be the Change’.

In the meantime, we have put together a list of personal actions you can take during Earth Week to reconnect to yourself, nature and community. You can find them below. Thank you for everything you do for Earth Day, everyday!
