Emily NodalClimate Resilience Programs Coordinator
Rooted in her lived experience growing up in an industrialized and polluted region in Southern California, inhabited predominantly by low-income communities of color, Emily has dedicated herself to the collective fight for a racially, economically, and environmentally just future. To pursue this calling, Emily moved to the East Bay to study Environmental Justice & Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley. There, she began her journey in the movement for a climate resilient world by developing environmental justice curriculum, coordinating climate action campaigns, and partnering with labor unions to alleviate economic inequality and create high-quality, green jobs. Upon graduating, she spent 5 months volunteering on nature reserves and organic farms throughout Europe to recenter and reconnect to the soil while engaging with a diversity of peoples, cultures, and landscapes.
In her free time, she enjoys theatrical and comedic performance, meditation, hiking, creating art, and playing with friends. Now living in Sebastopol, Emily is excited and grateful to explore her new home in Sonoma County. She is always looking to build out her community, so if you see her around town, at any event, or among the trees somewhere, don’t hesitate to strike up a conversation!”
