A native of Santa Rosa, Laura is currently serving as Controller at a local gourmet mushroom and nutraceutical manufacturer. Laura has worked in the organic consumer goods arena for over 15 years, with previous Controller positions at Guayaki Yerba Mate and Miyoko’s Creamery, as well as an assurance services manager for the wine industry. Laura began her career as an auditor at Deloitte, one of the big-four accounting firms, after a two-year adventure teaching English in Japan. She has a B.S. in Business, concentration in Accounting, from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a Masters in Sustainability from the former New College of California. A long-time Daily Actor. she has volunteered with several local organizations including the Sonoma County Beekeepers’ Association. In 2025, Laura will participate in her 4th experience of the AIDS/LifeCycle Ride, cycling 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles, raising funds fostering community and supporting awareness, care, and prevention service for the HIV/AIDS community. Laura brings her values and skills to the Daily Acts Board by leading the Finance Committee. She is also a Leadership Institute for Ecology and the Economy Fellow of 2009. Laura lives in Santa Rosa, California, with her husband, and can be found reading, gardening, hiking and cycling.
