Have you noticed that the Petaluma River is flowing? That locals are fishing, boats are passing and the ecosystem is thriving? This change comes after the City of Petaluma was able to dredge the river after 17 years! The dredging process shined light on the many issues that our river, and waterways face on a daily basis – Pollution! The disposal site of the dredging was Schollenberger Park, where volunteers spent many hours sifting through plastics and garbage that should have never ended up in the waterways.

On April 13th 2021, Daily Acts, The City of Petaluma and Friends of the Petaluma River came together to have a lively conversation about the dredging process, key findings, and actions that we can take in an effort to reduce pollution – starting on our landscapes.
