On April 21, 2022, Daily Acts partnered with Valley Water, and Michael Pistininzi of Our City Forest to host a webinar focused on sheet mulching, healthy soils, and water savings. The program described the Do-It-Yourself process of sheet mulching, discussed methods for designing and choosing plants, briefly discussed how to convert your sprinkler system for drip irrigation, and highlighted Valley Water’s landscape rebate program.
Sheet mulching is a simple technique that can be applied to most landscapes as an effort to decompose your lawn in place, build soil health, deter weeds, and keep moisture on site. Many cities have rebate programs that will support the process of converting your lawn, as well as resources to help you design a low-water landscape in your new garden.
