Rosemary Rosmarinus officinalis
Rosemary, or Rosmarinus officinalis, is a fragrant and versatile herb that is well-known for its aromatic leaves and a wide range of culinary, medicinal, and ornamental uses. Evergreen, long-flowering and low maintenance, this Mediterranean shrub is great for pollinators especially in the fall and winter. Once established, it can be watered very minimally in dry months to not at all. For best culinary use, pick stems that don’t have flowers on them to enjoy in your meals. Size dependent on species, expected 3’ tall and 5’ wide and can be tip-pruned each spring to avoid woodiness.
