Reflecting on another year living in a global pandemic, we sure do have a lot to be proud of. Despite the incredible challenges, we have also found ways to adapt, respond, and continue forward with our mission to create connected, equitable, and climate resilient communities. Take a moment to watch the 5 special messages (short! less than 2min each) below from the Daily Acts Team, reflecting on our 2021 successes and what we look forward to in the coming year.

Daily Acts’ Founder & Executive Director Trathen Heckman reflects on the importance of our work over the past 20 years, and how it centers on the world changing power of small, small actions and small groups to transform our lives, our homes, our gardens, our neighborhoods, and our communities. He shares about the 3 core facets of Daily Acts’ work and why they inspire him.

Daily Acts’ Sustainability Programs Manager Liz Platte-Bermeo reflects on her time with Daily Acts over the past 5 years. During her time with Daily Acts, she has noticed climate change is leaving our community feeling overwhelmed and wondering what can be done. She is proud to be a part of the Sustainability Team, offering programs that give people hope.

Daily Acts’ ECO2school Senior Programs Coordinator Kevin Anderson reflects on his time working with the ECO2school program since 2017. He is thrilled that Daily Acts adopted the ECO2school program in 2020 so he can continue supporting the youth to grow into leaders and gain a sense of belonging in our community. Kevin also reflects on launching the pilot Green Heart Community Design Challenge this year, and the re-launch of The Challenge for next year.

Daily Acts’ Leadership Institute for Just and Resilient Communities Programs Manager Kerry Fugett reflects on the challenges of being a leader within an increasingly polarized and individualistic world. She believes that bringing leaders together in a way that lets everyone show up as their fully authentic selves is the seed for transformational change we need. Kerry also reflects on the Leadership Institute’s 20 years and its growing network of over 600 alumni.

Daily Acts’ Leadership Institute for Just and Resilient Communities Programs Coordinator Isai Garcia reflects on his time as a participant of the Leadership Institute, and how Daily Acts and the Leadership Institute prioritize building collaboration across multiple sectors to work together to address climate change. He is excited to be a part of the Daily Acts team and invites others to join in on creating a more sustainable and equitable Sonoma County.
