Cleveland Sage Salvia clevelandii x luecophylla
Cleveland Sage, scientifically known as Salvia clevelandii, is a fragrant and visually appealing perennial shrub native to Southern California and parts of northern Baja California. It’s a member of the mint family (Lamiaceae) and is cherished for its aromatic leaves, colorful blossoms, and drought-tolerant nature. Quail love this plant! If you deadhead the seed heads off and throw them onto the ground, the quail will be there for a day or two eating seeds. Very drought tolerant but will take occasional watering. Tip prune in fall to encourage a bushier form.
