Scarlet Monkey Flower Mimulus cardinalis
Scarlet Monkey Flower, or Mimulus cardinalis, is a California native perennial that blooms throughout the spring and late summer seasons, attracting many bees and butterflies, with it’s slender, sticky leaves remaining all year long. This variety grows to be about 2-3ft tall and wide. This plant does best when planted in full sun to partial shade, and well-draining soil. Water frequently after planting to establish root system and then reduce the frequency, as this plant is drought tolerant. Occasional pruning is suggested to keep it looking full.
