California Fescue Festuca californica

Full Sun
Low Water Use

This fast-growing perennial grass grows in clumps that spray out from the center, reaching 3 feet wide and can up to 4 feet tall. The rough, narrow leaves host butterflies and moths.

California fescue prefers loamy or clay soils, grows in full sun or part shade (inland), and takes very little water. Once established, it should not receive more than a couple of waterings during each summer month.
