Echinacea, or Purple Coneflower Echinacea purpurea

Echinacea purpurea is a type of coneflower native to North America that blooms in the summer through early fall. It is a drought-tolerant perennial that prefers full sun to partial shade, and well drained soil. This plant does well on the edge of rain gardens!
Fun fact: It has a long history of traditional medicinal uses by indigenous peoples for treating infections, pain, and wounds.
