Silver Carpet Beach Aster Corethrogyne filaginifolia ‘Silver Carpet’
This is one of the best native California groundcovers. It is very low growing and compact, forming nice mounds, with beautiful silver foliage and pink flowers that last from summer through the fall. It supports tons of native bees, butterflies, moths, and birds!
It is a perfect plant for borders, planters, rock gardens and containers, as it spills nicely over the edge. For best appearance keep it pruned back. Tolerates almost any soil type. Prefers sun in coastal sites, and part shade in inland sites.
