On Saturday, June 29th 2019, Daily Acts partnered with the City of Cotati to lead a hands-on irrigation workshop at Pocket Park Food Forest in Cotati. Participants walked the site and learned about the existing irrigation system, saw different types of point source irrigation techniques, and practiced ways to troubleshoot and evaluate an irrigation system. Before modifying the existing irrigation system, the group learned about the pros and cons of point source versus inline irrigation as well as appropriate uses of each system. The participants put all the fruit trees on a single valve and replaced and repaired the rest of the system as needed to fix leaks, reduce water waste, and increase irrigation efficiency and effectiveness.
The workshop was held bilingually in Spanish and English. Stay tuned for future bilingual programming!
