On Saturday, October 23rd Daily Acts partnered with the City of Cotati to host a laundry-to-landscape graywater installation for Cotati Water customer, Kelly Hennesy. Through an application process developed and distributed by Daily Acts, Kelly was chosen as the installation site because of the location of her washer to the landscape, her interest in being involved in the process, and because of her desire to transform her lawn with sheet mulching and the City’s Cash for Grass program. Kelly also expressed aspiration to be a tour site for future events!
This event was also made possible through collaboration with Maynor Davila, a contractor with Equinox Landscape, who helped Daily Acts staff and volunteers feel more confident in system design and installation as he brought his graywater skills and knowledge to the event. Volunteers worked to install the full system, and supported Kelly’s family in diverting laundry water to the front yard landscape. Now, when seasonally appropriate, that water will be help water fruit trees and woody plants.
