On Saturday, November 7th 2020 Daily Acts partnered with the Town of Windsor to begin landscape transformations for three residential front yards, that will serve as demonstration gardens for water-wise, habitat friendly landscapes. Daily Acts Staff worked at the three front yard sites to educate and direct homeowners and volunteers on the first step of the landscape transformation process: sheet mulching. Volunteers were led through how to sheet mulch step by step, with the hopes that they could replicate the process with their own gardens.
With this program occurring right before winter rains, all three previously irrigated lawns that were sheet mulched will decompose in place, and build up soil health in preparation for planting in Spring of 2021. The three Windsor front yard sites were chosen for this program through an interview process in the Spring of 2020 after Daily Acts released an application for Windsor residents in December of 2019.
